its official.. i'll be in bangkok doing nothing for the next 3 days. yes you heard me. nothing. nought. zilch. zero. re. ling. konok. soon (thai for 0). really. nothing meaningful. just happily relaxing in my nice hotel and calling room service during meal times. (a good time to explore BCS menu yea?)
besides (ab)using the free high speed wireless internet service at BCS for torrent downloads and chit chatting with friends, i don't have much of an idea what to do with my time for this day off. got a bit sick shopping and chionging from the past 2 or 3 N3Ds i guess.. have been feeling very tired in camp. can't seem to sleep enough even though i sleep through all my lunch times..
realised that there seemed to be lesser and lesser people to go out with. this may be due to one or more of the following reasons..
(1) the ever decreasing population size of ppl who share my race in SYC;
(2) the recent obsession (and stricter enforcement) of training branch with UFP (*$^%&);
(3) the lack of new NSFs who remit 600 SGD a month ever since my buddy left;
(4) the change of camp culture whereby RIC is no longer viewed with distaste;
(5) A6's pro education campaigns working and the new perm staffs CPC sends up are more well behaved (i.e. 乖乖) with more desirable social lifestyles (i.e. won't frequent holl**ood);
(6) my time is almost up.
judging from the myriad of reasons above, i feel that (6) is the most likely of the cluster of choices. my time is almost up and i can feel it. today's 20th. it's a week from completing my 7th (out of 9) month in thailand. afterwhich i'll have 2 months left.. in many senses, i feel that i've accomplished a lot here. met some really good people, recee-ed a foreign land, picked up some new phrases in yet another language. if my mum's ok i wouldn't mind staying for another couple of months to experience more thailand..
looking back at the past half a year, i've definitely seen many things. some pleasant, some ugly. will bring the pleasant memories back and leave the bad ones behind. its so me to be constantly moving on. i guess acceptance has made my life a lot easier to live. (edit: acceptance does not equate to resignation). which generally means that i'm easy going and cheerful.
some campmate asked me about photosynthesis today. i tried to explain the dark and light reactions but stopped myself before i start sounding like an encyclopedia again =.= then in the afternoon another guy called to ask me about the combustibility of white phosphorous. suddenly made me miss my inorganic chemistry books! (perhaps i'll go to kinokuniya tomorrow to read) i guess books have always and will always be an integral part of my life. just can't live without them.
just noticed the incoherence of my paragraphs. possibly due to a long abstinence from writing (or its just cos its 3am here..) shall go sleep!
