in singapore for 5 days already.. didn't do much except for some shopping and meeting some friends. relaxing at home most of the time.. :)

tHe DaY aRrIvEs!

went crazy shopping in bangkok yesterday to buy things for home leave! souveniers for friends and relatives and lots of clothes for mei. too bad only had one day there..

totally high and excited now! will be flying off in 9 hours! just finished packing luggage. comfirm overweight one but we are perm staff so they don't really care. only training troops got weight limit of 20kg. (but they dun get to go bangkok wat.. how heavy can their luggages be..) :)

felt like going around camp to take photos.. but lazy to move. haha. still got a long time here lor. no need to scared no chance ma..

going to send laundry soon! new bedsheets and blanket for a new year! haha. hoping to buy a comforter when i come back. then air con can on 20 degrees and can be warm and sung under the sheets.. *grinz*

stomach growling. hopefully lunch will be gd today! :)

FiVe MoRe!

time flies! 5 more days to see sunny singapore again.. spend the ND in k-town. met lye and his gf. had the chance to spend a day in a really thai way. not crazy shopping like in bangkok, but taking naps and listening to thai music and eating hawker food by the river kwai.

tried some beef soup that was really spicy. was sweating all over and slightly tearing by the end of it. :( even the thais also said that the noodles were spicy.. haha. survived it though. managed to finish it up. accomplishment leh..

v inspired to learn thai properly. shall start by bringing a dicionary around with me. the letters require constant revising to register better. will devote more time!

8 dAyS!

finally settled lots of paper work. left some guns to inspect only.. :) the home leave is getting closer by the minute.

hda the feeling of settling down into the office. finally got a complete picutre of my job scope etc. wats left is just minor improvements to the administration.

got my 3 stripes! but the camp has yet to publish it, which is good cos i won't have to do any duty.. heex

went to see OCS live firing yesterday. had to climb up a v f*#&^%! steep hill.. so tiring! then see all the seafood up there walking around. scary lor. but the firing was fun to watch. learnt some more stuff abt wat to do when live rounds get jammed in a chamber.. =.=

never knew guns could be so fun.. guess i missed out quite a bit in singapore where my unit's holding is not as varied.

wa lau.. damn shag lor.. working OT everyday until 11.. then morning got duty wake up at 5.30. at least got the home leave to look forward to. realised that always got this period of time abt 1 mth after i enter the unit i'll be working like mad. before that is the transitional period where i wonder what is there to do and nobody tells me. after that when i know what's going on, i know what needs to be done and what does not.. so more relax.

finalised flight details. coming back from 22 jan till 2 feb. 11 days and 9 days of leave. meaning i got 5 days left for ORD. wtf!? but no need to take leave for holiday le la. thailand is already an extended holiday for me le..

decided not to extend my stay. enough is enough.. most people who stay one year end up getting really sick of bangkok. if im fated to i'll be automatically extended.. lolx. better not perform too well hor ;)

looking really forward to the home leave. realised how much i missed singapore. luckily got internet over here and still can keep in contact with my friends over in singapore. hope can meet as many ppl as i can when i get back.

cny around the corner!! $$ ^^ lolx. need to buy so many things. going broke soon (ok. gone broke twice le =.=) sometimes i dun see spending too much as a big issue cos the money wouldnt have been in my bank if i hadn't come. its kinda like an obligation to spend it.. haha. like a paradox of thrift. dunno whether to save or not..

some safety inspection coming and there's this big hooha about electrical appliances.. apparently my fridge is not allowed in bunk!! today is the last day that i can use it.. :'( after that i will sell my baby to signal workshop. maybe use the money to buy a 21 inch tv to watch DVDs.. still sad that my fridge has to go.. but shall not rant abt the double standards in army.. :)

RSM found a used cond** in the cubicle of our common toilet today. he was kinda disgusted and so was i.. why the heck would someone dispose of such a thing in the toilet?!!? just can't understand some people..

going off to bangkok tonight :) a well deserved break after this week of very very tedious work.. need to pack again! always forgetting to bring certain stuffs. really must try to improve my memory.. the thai saying is that eating more mangoes help. wonder if its true.. :S

18 days!! heex!

just completed my IPPT at 6pm this morning.. cleared it! can go day off anytime le :D.. going to bangkok again tml for 4 days. will be seeing a different part of thailand!

trying to learn thai. picked up some thai letters and got a bit more used to the thai intonation. kinda hard to learn with proper pronunciation cos got 5 tones! (chinese 4 already so hard le..) will put more effort into learning!

OCS came. met some RJ ppl but dunno them too well. they're quite friendly! very disciplined bunch too. feels weird to see them marching ard from one point to another but can get used to it. really looking forward to see them go live firing with platoon movement next week.. where i can sit on top of the hill and have a gd view of everyone. guess its one of the perks of being a small arms armt tech ;)

feels gd today. many things contributed to it.. getting closer to my workshop ppl, which is a gd thing. guess it just takes some time for ppl to accept that im very different from my upper studdy..

had safety day today. the doctor's presentation on HIV and stuff rekindled my interest in biotechnology lolx. there was something abt ELISA and Western blot. suddenly all the inge stuff came rushing back. kinda miss the j2 muging days. sighx

going to play tennis now.. :)

Thailand

happy new year everyone!! welcome to 2006, the year of ORD ;)

my first post in a long long time! decided to set up a blog to pen down my thoughts in thailand. hopefully this time i will have the willpower to sustain this blog for more than 1 month. must make blogging a habit hor. :)

finally settled down in thailand! the past month has boon most enjoyable! not to mention the trips to bangkok and all the sightseeing.. totally roxes! looking forward to bringing my classmates and friends around bangkok when they come over for a holiday.

shopping is such an experience here. everything is so cheap that u just buy and buy. and end up spending much much more than an ordinary shopping trip in singapore. :( however u get so much more satisfacton cos u are like totally loaded when u get back.. singapore shopping usually ends up as window shopping ma. filled up my cupboard with all clothes for every occasion! ended up totally broke for the month of december.. :$

set up a nice and cosy room. bought myself a fridge for christmas! totally insane expenditure. not to mention having to cover it up whenever there's a bunk inspection by rsm.. but can put all my drinks and booze inside :)

work wise, nothing much cos its a lull period now (i.e. no training troops) but in 3 days time OCS ppl coming so will be busier.. but the pace of work here is very comfortable.. so no complaints. hopefully office relations will improve though :)

feels damn blessed to be ''arrowed'' to come.. haha. my NS life is so full of these pleasant surprises.. inc. getting posted to oeti and msa.. :)

will be back in singapore from 23 jan till 31 jan! hope to see as many ppl as i can when i come back!

p/s this post is v incoherent wor.. bo bian. haven't written in such a long time.. hopefully i can still write a proper essay.. if not go uni die le :'(
