i believed that doing good deeds will bring one good luck or improve one's karma.. and i always thought there's a special someone looking after me.. guess its true after all. after a certain incident, i got 3 extra duties.. and one of the duties ate up one of my day offs, which is today. apparently, my father called this morning to tell me that my mum is warded in hospital with certain blood complications; and that she wants to see me asap. thank goodness i was in camp and now i can go back tomorrow afternoon very comfortably. (or perhaps this is just due to my unwavering optimism?)

hope that special someone also looks after my mother too. and i hope she cheers up and pulls through this very difficult period.. hopefully after this she will look at the brighter side of life :)

some updates on my life :)

i've finally passed my 6 month mark in SAI YOK.. which means that in the event where i get sent back i won't have to give back my (very substantial) overseas allowance! that's a pretty good deal if u ask me :)

i just got promoted yesterday in camp! (back dated to 10 JAN) so this means no more double sided taping of ranks on my coveralls. can finally get the ranks sewn on the remaining coveralls.. but the bad news is that the duties start coming. and COS duties are so different from the usual mess steward duties :P

next up, i'll be back again in july for another home leave soon! tentatively its 1 jul till 11 jul, subject to any last minute changes. i think will hear the word of approval either tomorrow or monday. since the period is lull there isnt much chance of the app getting rejected..

my end of tour date is scheduled on aug 27, but here in thailand nothing is finalised until i see my air ticket. given the upcoming LRI i may be forced to stay until late september.. will walk one step count one step i guess.. go back to singapore also nothing much to do ma (i miss u mummy!!) haha. but thailand also fun la.. anyone can come visit me here also!!

finally, i didnt get NUS law.. they didnt offer me a chance to go for an interview :'( but NUS business school say i can accept them first and i can enter the double degree in the second year if my results are good.. but who in the right mind will choose that if i already have a double degree place confirmed in SMU? accepting NUS means automatically forfeiting my SMU place =.=

kok came back for holiday! went hollywood (again) with the guys last night! confirmed that som tam is the ultimate anti hangover food.. woke up today feeling good k.. even with 7 hours of sleep only..

i realised why i'm putting on so much weight! its coming from all the sugar in the coke i'm drinking!! i shall have my drinks a bit more neat i guess? haha..

BCS is this amazing place with insane wireless connections.. so many things to download.. shall bring my laptop out for all my day offs nxt time.. :)

i bought a webcam! now my mum can finally see me when we chat.. 600B for a solid looking one. hopefully it works fine too.. didnt want to buy one with too high a resolution cos my camp internet isnt as fast..

hope to test call my mum this afternoon. havent been able to shop yet!! shall go back to sleep now and go to the mall later this afternoon..

very tired.. so i'm making this real quick!

my new IC came! he's called warrant soh. he got thai wife wor! so speak thai v geng one.. quite a nice guy. shall look forward to working under him. former LRI head so knows a lot of paperwork stuff on his fingertips..

had 3 straight days of live firing.. climbed a vv steep hill 4 times. plus every day rain.. since bmt i have never been caught in the rain at all =.= suddenly got the garang soldier feeling.. lolx.

going to bangkok tml for a shopping spree! havent had one for ages. shall stay in nasa vegas with my buddy and shop at the mall and sikon.. big big shopping areas.. might want to bring another bag just in case.. hehe.

realised i'm ahead in my accounts. need to expand some of my allowance *gasps in horror*. no point changing back to sing dollars ma.. shopping madly and staying in bai yok sky (2600B per night) later this month are some very good techniques.. :)

will update more tomorrow when i reach bangkok!

today marks the peak of my physical fitness! =.= lolx. passed my ippt 2nd year. considering that i only serve 2 years, i don't think i'll have to take it for another few years.. :) (perhaps by then i would have downgraded.. who knows..)

going for live firing tomorrow. hopefully nothing bad happens and it doesnt rain.

nothing much going on in camp lately. looking forward to my nxt day off! apparently eesuan wants to come with a friend and they want to stay at asia hotel.. then brandon also wants me to help him and jensen book asia hotel.. is asia hotel so popular for singaporeans? heard its haunted wor.. the perm staff dun go there one.. haha.

oh ya! phuket here i come!! woot.
